Loop House | Jakarta, INA
Loop House was designed as a premise of a client who loves to invite and spend time in the rooftop with the family and friends over the break.
As the plot of land that is situated in the area with lots of greenery, our proposal includes a methodology to deploy an inside-outside relationship, at the same time driving a three-dimensional garden and dwelling.
Rather than a floating Corbusian roof deck, however, the house offers an intimate accessible experience like walking on a private urban garden guided with an interconnected circulation spine. It takes the form of a wide stair that begins at the entrance, rises to the rear of the site, and then turns back to reach the uppermost terrace.
The project is approached to also bring sustainability to the development. One strategy was to place two inner-courtyards within the first floor of the house to connect both gardens while reaching through some fresh ventilation and genuine amount of daylight penetration to the interior space. These gardens will restore the natural landscape and reduce rainwater effluent; by collecting rainwater for the irrigation of native vegetation and flushing system. Solar panel will be used to supply electric energy, power of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to reduce energy consumption.
