We are delighted to share that our project, Kencana Valley Compound, has received two awards from the Architecture MasterPrize Awards.

Kencana Nest was honored with “Best of the Best” in the Architectural Design – Small Architecture category. The project features a wooden pavilion constructed from glulam, showcasing and inspiring innovative use of timber as a primary material.

In addition, Kencana Valley Compound received an Honorable Mention in the Architectural Design – Green Architecture category. Beyond the wooden pavilion, the project also emphasizes the thoughtful design of wooden villas, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable architecture.

We are truly honored to receive these two awards from the Architecture MasterPrize and remain committed to continuously improving and delivering our best work.

It was such a wonderful experience for us to be invited as guest speakers at Pelita Harapan University, where we had the opportunity to share our knowledge and insights with enthusiastic students and participants who are passionate about timber construction.

The event took place on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, together with our fellow collaborator Jeshua Sadeli from Woodlam Indonesia. We shared our ideas and design process behind two of our current studio projects Intertwined Residence and Wellness Pavilion; both exploring the potential of timber as a key design element.

Hosted by Rothoblass Indonesia, this event aimed to inspire architects, designers, and engineers in Indonesia to further explore the creative possibilities of hybrid structural systems in architectural design.

K-Thengono Design Studio is proud to participate in JIA CURATED 2025, held on August 14 to 18 at Bali Festival Park, Sanur. For this exhibition, we are showcasing Joglo Reimagined, a recently completed residence that fuses the timeless character of traditional Javanese Joglo architecture with modern sensibilities. We are delighted to join this platform where designers from across the creative industry come together to exchange ideas and celebrate design innovation.

Curated by Suzy Annetta, Founder of Design Anthology, the exhibition revolves around the theme of “scale,” featuring maquettes by 24 architects from across Indonesia. From intimate residences to expansive public spaces, the showcase highlights the intersection of craft and design in architecture, shaped by rich and diverse cultural contexts.

K-Thengono Design Studio was invited to OMAH Library to share the principal’s reflections and experiences in architecture, particularly on the key influences that have shaped our journey over the past five years. During the session, we also had the opportunity to recount how we were first introduced to architecture and what it's like to grow professionally within the field.

This event was part of Dara(h) Muda, a thoughtful initiative led by Realrich Sjarief, where young and emerging architects are invited to share their architectural narratives. We’re grateful for the chance to contribute to this inspiring platform and to exchange both professional insights and personal stories from our design journey.
